The Surrey Female Hockey Association, home of the Falcons, is proud to announce it is hosting the 2014 BC Hockey Female Peewee A Championships right here in Surrey from March 16-20 at the Cloverdale Arena. This is the first time the Association has ever hosted the event.

Teams vying for the provincial title include the Kelowna Rockets, North Shore Avalanche, Prince George Cougars, Richmond Ravens, South Island Royals, Surrey Falcons and the West Kootenay Wildcats. The tournament will kick off with a banquet on Saturday, March 15 with the first game starting on Sunday, March 16 at 10:30 am. Opening ceremonies will be held later on Sunday at 7:30 pm. The final championship game will be held on Thursday, March 20 at 8:00 pm.

Hosting provincials is a huge undertaking, requiring many volunteer hours. The organizing committee has it well in hand but would definitely appreciate some help from others in the SFHA organization. If you have any time over the first week of spring break and would like to come help out, there are spots available for timekeeping, scorekeeping and running the raffle table. Please contact Jennifer Harder at harder_jenn@shaw.ca if you can help out.

If you want to take in some great female hockey over the next week, drop by the Cloverdale Arena and check it out.
